VICKY ZHANG
PLAY BY: Fernanda Ly
♦ THE BASICS ♦
AGE: 23.
GENDER: Female.
ORIENTATION: Bisexual.
POSITION: Your Friendly Neighborhood Drug Dealer.♦ THE CHARACTER ♦
HEIGHT: 5'5"
HAIR COLOR: Naturally black, but perpetually dyed light pink.
EYE COLOR: Dark brown.
MISC: She cares a lot about her appearance, and wouldn't caught dead without a full face of makeup and the latest alternative trends. She has tattoo on her ankle-- a sloppily written 'boob', (surely the result of a high night and a friend who promised that she could do stick-and-poke tattoos perfectly.)
PERSONALITY: After being suffocated by her parents during her childhood, Vicky developed a very rebellious personality. She gravitates towards chaos and dangerous situations, and she loves it. She breaks rules often and without remorse, and she finds herself drawn towards the dark, gritty side of life.
Yet despite this, Vicky is far from being a party animal, or even a social butterfly. Although she partakes in her own merchandise frequently, she doesn't frequent clubs or bars, and most nights she's most likely at home indulging in a face mask and a book. She's an introvert to the highest degree, and she has very few people whom she considers close friends. Especially after taking up drug dealing, she's paranoid and suspicious of others. But with a dry humor and a penchant for excitement, she can be a worthwhile friend to have.
Also a complete sucker for the bad boys, Vicky has always been hopelessly attracted to the type of guys with a "dark, simply misunderstood soul." She likes them mysterious and emotionally unstable, and every boyfriend thus far has possessed either an acoustic guitar or a Harley-Davidson. Given her line of work, these types of stereotypical guys aren't hard to come by.
Her morals can be conflicting. She's isn't particularly loyal or faithful, and her decisions can be easily swayed by what interests or suites her more. She's often been called cold-hearted, due to rarely ever giving affection, or even wanting it. (Vicky has threatened people for hugging her on more than one occasion.) She doesn't often feel passionate emotions, and is often nonchalant. But at heart, Vicky is gentle and sympathetic. Most notably, she has always had a soft spot for the underdog. She has a surprising maternal side to her personality. If she sees someone who looks like a helpless puppy, she feels compelled to nurture and protect them.
SECRET(S): A death happened about six months ago in Glenhaven: a teenager, who overdosed on heroin. Guess who was the supplier. (She still feels guilty as all hell, but this isn't a lifestyle she knows how to quit.)♦ THE HISTORY ♦
No tragic backstory here-- family-wise, Vicky's was actually doing pretty well for themselves. Dr. Mei-hui Liu and Dr. Kevin Zhang met in medical school. They built their future through good, old-fashioned hard work, and now they're a very successful duo working in none other than Glenhaven, CA. (No, not the Chinese couple who own the buffet downtown. If she hears that one more time, godbless the person she said it to her.) Vicky is their only daughter.
From an early age, Vicky and her parents never got along well. Although as child she was close to her father, as her teenage years loomed closer and closer, Vicky and her parents has less and less in common. Thanks to generation and trans-Pacific cultural gaps too wide to fill with good intentions, Vicky and her parents argued. A lot. They pushed her to excel academically and become a well-rounded young lady, paying for piano lesson for ten years, extra school on the weekends... Vicky grudgingly obliged-- that is, until her teenage years.
As soon as she hit fourteen-- high school, with new friends and new bad words and new 'cool' things to do-- all hell broke loose in the Zhang household. Vicky would disobey her parents frequently, the arguments became violent, she often snuck out of the house, etc. Although things died down a bit after the worst one argument (a fist to the face after she dyed her hair, when her dad threatened to leave unless she stopped being worthless-- or, The Time Nobody Mentioned Again,) tensions still were high for the rest of the year. Vicky's senior year was the year that her dealer quit the business, since he was on probation and didn't want to risk anything. That, and it was too dangerous. And maybe when Vicky heard him say that, she took it as a challenge.
She asked him who he bought in bulk from, and that was that.
These days, Vicky spends her days selling drugs from her apartment. She's enrolled in the local community college, finally. (Her parents are still letting her know, it's not too late to decide to became a doctor, although she can hear the doubt in their voice. They wonder where she got the money to be able to move out so soon, and she tells that that's she's tutoring the rich white kids down in Pennbrook Ridge.)♦ THE PLAYER ♦
