This list will be filled out as we go and feel free to post any and all questions you might have as a reply (Or send a message to one of the staff members).
THE "THIS LIFE OF MINE" UNIVERSE
1. What year/month is it?
We stick to real life time, meaning that the year is 2016 and the same goes for the month/days. You can, however, be more flexible with the time of day during your writing. We're not picky on that.
2. Who's the president of the USA?
Again, here we go by actual real life. Whoever is president in real life, is also president here.
THE SITE - GENERAL STUFF
1. Is there an age limit to how old or young my character could be?
Technically, no, there isn't, but play by's have to be at least thirteen years of age in real life. But if they look younger, we don't see any problems making an, for example, eleven year old. As for old... As long as it's within the realm of realism, go crazy.
2. Is there a specific way to format my posts?
No. As long as it's not glaring and easy to read, go nuts.
3. How large can my avatar/signature be?
Avatars resize at 200x200 and signatures cannot be larger than 500x500, since the site will automatically resize anything larger than that scale.
4. How do I make a hyperlink in my thread?text
5. How do I use the OoC cbox?
The OOC chat box can be found on the left sidebar. If you don't have an account, it will show you as 'anon####'. For making an account, click on 'Set Name', then pick option 3, and click on the button called 'Sign Up'.
6. Can I be a staffer?
You can apply for any of the open Staff positions, and if there is none available, let a Staff know that you want to help out and we'll discuss it and let you know if there's any open positions.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS
1. Are there any limitations on how dark my character's past can be?
Make sure you do the approprierte amount of research on the field and keep it realistic and within ProBoards TOS and you likely won't hear any complaints from us - again, go nuts.
2. Can my character have killed someone?
Well, yes. But again, realism counts here. If your character killed someone, it would be dealt with IC as it would have been OoC.
3. Can my character have any illnesses?
Again; realism and research and you're good to go.
4. How long do I have to wait between making characters?
Unless there's a character trial running, you need a total of 25 posts per character before making a new one. You don't need an additional 25 on older characters. If you're unsure, feel free to ask a staffer.
5. How many characters can I have?
As long as you keep all of your characters active, you can have as many or as few as you'd like.
