Summer had come and almost passed - at least summer vacation was nearing its end. Erika was actually exited to start her college classes. She'd been working most of the summer to save up a little so that she could put more focus on her studies instead of working odd shifts to be able to pay for it all. Of course, she still had to work, but not nearly as much as last year.
She picked up as much work as she could, but considering how she wasn't the only waitress at Grandma Susie's Kitchen, she too, had to get a few days off. It felt odd - having an entire day off. She couldn't really remember the last time her schedule had been completely free and it made her feel annoyingly restless. She could have done what most other people did - taken the whole day to herself and just recharging her batteries, but instead, here she was, strolling around the streets, window shopping.
As she walked, she saw a man in front of her drop something - she wasn't quite sure what it was and wasted little time before rushing forward, olive tanned fingers curling around the object as she rose to her feet once more, jogging after the stranger, "Excuse me," she called out, waving her free hand. Though in hindsight, with his back turned against her, he wouldn't see it.
Finally, she reached him and used her free hand to tap him on the shoulder. "Excuse me," she repeated, "Sir?"
