Chief of Police Jack Forrester rolled up into the staff parking zone of the police department. Since it was still early in the morning not much other personal vehicles were parked up, which left enough space to put his dark blue Chevrolet Camaro. The automatic doors would open as he stepped into the air conditioned reception. En-route to his office he would nod to the duty sergeant on station at the time. The fairly deserted rooms inside the GPD gave an eerily feeling, which Jack soon shook off him.
Using his key to open the door to his office he would immediately scan his new surroundings, the office was bare of any personal touches. Basically the standard government office, having a desk, chairs, old desktop and filing cabinets. But it was a space where one could work, maybe not efficiently, but work one can.
With the office all set he would send out notifications to all members of the GPD to meet in the squad room. He needed them to understand their jobs, and understand they have a new chief in town. He would have sent out the notice to meet in the squad room within and hour after the shift starts.
He would pick out the personal records of his new staff and head over to the squad room. With enough reading material he would not be bored until the officers and detectives arrived.
