Ariel was currently walking in the park, taking in the scenery around her. Here people seemed to be laughing and enjoying themselves on such a sunny day. They were playing fetch with their dogs, picnicking, reading on park benches and just simply walking and talking with friends. For Ariel, she simply was just walking the trails. She hadn't come to meet anyone of interest, nor did she have anything to do at the moment. Brad was off doing whatever it was that he was doing at the moment, and she, was, well, being Ariel. Earbuds in her ears, she would be listening to LA Devotee by Panic! At the Disco. It seemed to be her new favorite song, if even only for the day.
Getting into the song, fighting the urge to dance as she seemed to be in a great mood today, she noticed that it had come to an end. Pulling her phone from her back pocket and looking down at the screen to press repeat, she would bump into something. Looking up into the face of a young man, she couldn't help but to quickly apologize. "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry," she exclaimed.
(Jacob Adams - I got you a quick little something down. Hope it gives you something to go off of.)
Well, he was lost again. Lucky for him, he'd finally caved and made an investment in a modern phone about half a year ago, so at least he had a map. Only problem was, he still had no idea how the stupid phone worked. In fact, it seemed more fruitful for him to simply walk around aimlessly, rather than trying to figure this rocket science out. He'd stopped in the middle of the walkway, swearing under his breath as he'd finally found the map app only to zoom in on what he assumed was nothern Russia. Man, was he not friends with technology.
He didn't get too far in trying to figure his new problem out, as his unthoughtful choice of place to stand around resulted in someone walking straight into him. He jumped backwards slightly, but when he looked up to see what had happened, he seemed more relieved than anything. ”No, that's great, actually. I'm lost. Could you.. show me the way... uh. Out of here?” he didn't exactly have a plan for where he was going. He just didn't wanna walk around in circles in the trails for three days straight just cause you need to be a brain surgeon to understand his stupid phone.

Ariel was relieved, to say the least. At least the stranger wasn’t mad. It definitely could have been worse. The brown haired boy could have cursed her and told her to go on somewhere, but, it appeared he was lost, according to what he was saying. It also appeared that he had a phone in his hand. Trying to use Google Maps, perhaps? Ariel thought so. Luckily, she had grown up here and knew the park well. Which brought her to her next thought. Why was he lost? Surely the park wasn’t all that hard to navigate, right? Granted the trails weaved in and out and led to a million different places, but still.
She put on a small smile and hopped that her social anxiety didn’t kill her off. “You’re not from around here are you,” she asked. ”Nevermind that. Sure I can help ya. I’m assuming you just want to get out of the park?” She silently reminded herself to stop rambling. With her recent luck, Ariel reckoned that he would think she was insane or something. ”Maps are pretty worthless in the park. If you want, I could just lead you out?”
He smiled, thankfully, waiting a while to see if she was finished speaking. It didn't exactly bother him, if anything, it made him feel better about his own tendency to ramble way worse, even if the causes of their ramblings might not be the same. When he was somewhat sure she expected an answer, he nodded. ”That'd be great, actually. Maps are complete crap no matter where you are. I don't know why I still bother.” he shrugged, put his phone away and awaited her instructions. ”I'm Jake, by the way, and no, I'm not from here, although I can't say I had any better luck finding my way around at home.” he said, waving cheerfully. His hometown was one thing; it was small enough that even him learned to navigate it somewhat. But Jackson and the surrounding suburbs... he still got lost there somewhere during his last year there. Finding places simply wasn't his strong side.

Ariel simply laughed at his comment about finding his way around. Apparently he wasn't all that good with directions, though that wasn't too big of a deal. At least he wasn't some random person just driving to a destination of no where on the highway. He could have been wasting gas or something. She pulled herself away from her thoughts. "Cool. So uh, follow me I guess," she said, taking a few steps north and then turning around to talk to the boy -Jake, he said his name was- while still walking. "The names Ariel," she responded, pronouncing her name like R-E-L. "No worries, I can get you out of here. It's quite easy to navigate really."
Feeling hopeful now that he'd actually found someone who could show him his way out of there, he followed her, looking around himself a bit as if to try to memorize how she got him out. Not that he was going to remember this regardless of how hard he tried. Still, might as well try. ”Thanks.” he said, catching up to walk beside her. ”You know, it's different here. Even in the parks, there's so much... crap going on everywhere. Where I'm from, there's a small concentrated area of crap. No matter where you go, you always end up back there eventually. Here, stuff just doesn't seem to end. All roads can't possibly lead to Rome when Rome is everywhere, you know?” he mused, realising how little sense that probably made. ”I guess it doesn't matter, can't find my way anywhere for shit either way.” he shrugged happily. After all, he did meet a lot of people this way.

"I feel you on that one," Ariel responded. "We have some sort of something going on here, everyday is seems." She led him up the pathway, passing by various people. At least it was sunny today, and she wasn't trying to give the guy directions in the pouring rain. She laughed at his last comment. "Trust me, I'm not that well with directions either. If I hadn't been born and raised in this town, I'd be just as lost as you are."
(Sorry for the oh so late and short response, but I felt like I needed to give you something.)
