What a day. Actually it was pretty typical, which suited Tony just fine. He' woken up, taken his sister to school, then headed back home to get some of his dirtier work done. Fortunately nothing bad had happened. Deals had gone off without a hitch. He's gotten a call that another car was "aquired" for the shop.
The rest of the day was relaxed. He didn't have to do too much other than check in with his gang and sort out some payment. Once that was done he got his sister and headed home. Now he was just sitting and watching tv, waiting for a certain someone to show up.
Just as he wondered, he heard someone at the door. Tony got up and headed over, leaving his beer on the table. When he unlocked and opened the door, it was with a smirk. "Finally you show up, you useless mechanic." He motioned for Ethan to come inside.
He was bored. Nothing of interest had happened today. Other than getting in a freshly stolen car. Ethan had been more than happy to dismantle it for parts. Yet after that, there was nothing. After his last time at the bar watching his friend drown his sadness in beer, he wasn't looking to go out to the club. Although he would need to soon, if he wanted to find her again. So in a display of minor daring, he'd called up his boss to hang out.
He knocked on the door once there. It was a little later in the day. Yet Tony opened the door with a smirk. Finally he showed up. The smirk was mirrored as Ethan was gestured inside. "Useless? I'll remember that next time they bring a car in to take apart. Maybe I'll let someone else handle it." The threat was playful and had no bite to it. Did he want a beer? He was just watching tv. "I could go for one, thanks." Meanwhile Ethan headed for the couch and took off his jacket. "Thanks for letting me come over too. Today was perfectly boring."
Since he got a yes, Tony got one of the beers out of the fridge. "Don't you dare." Tony said while heading back to the couch, beer in hand. "Knowing those guys they might end up breaking something. Broken parts don't sell as much." With that he sat down and handed Ethan the can, grabbing for his own.
""And hey, no problem. Been a pretty uneventful day." He took a long drink from his beer. "But I'm not exactly complaining too much, unlike you over here." Tony grinned while he said it before staring back at the tv. He wasn't super invested in the show anyways.
"So speak up Ethan. Tell me what's been happening in your life."
He wouldn't dare. Knowing the others they would end up breaking some parts, and broken parts sold for less. The statement rang true, and Ethan's smirk widened. Not that he had actually stop his work. He enjoyed it too much. And for as much as he liked Tony, he knew not to cross him. It was part of what made this little meeting so daring.
He accepted the beer gratefully and opened it. It was no problem; the day had been pretty uneventful. But he wasn't complaining, unlike Ethan was. "It's not complaining, it's acknowledging that I'm horribly bored." He replied easily, drinking some of his beer. Ethan didn't expect him to complain though. He actually had some family, so a quiet day was a safe one. Or as safe as they could get. But he should speak up. What's been happening in his life?
"Well other than babysitting our broken-hearted brother, not too much." It came with an eyeroll. Then he paused. "Although I did get to meet a girl from the Afterlife. I may get to see her again, if I'm lucky." Hopefully it would happen. He'd enjoyed their banter.
Tony rolled his eyes. Ethan had a way with words, but he wasn't fooled. "Which is still complaining that there's nothing to get rid of that boredom." He pointed at Ethan with a smirk. Then took another drink before talking. "So, yes, still complaining. Nice try."
"Aaahhh, right." It had been a stupid idea from the beginning when that relationship had started. It had only been a matter of time before it ended just as stupidly. But Tont was more interested in another detail anyways. "But what's this about a girl?" Had someone caught the mechanic's eyes? "Don't just end it like that. Give me something to go off of."
It was still complaining that there was nothing to quell the boredom, which was still complaining. It came with a pointer finger that he scoffed at. Maybe he was complaining. Which might've sounded idiotic on paper. There was a lot that could've gone wrong. Cops showing up. Rival gang showing up. The possibilities were endless.
Ah, right. He remembered who Ethan was talking about. Clearly he shared the general feeling on the relationship. It had been doomed to failure. But what was this about some girl? He shouldn't end it like that; give him something to go off of. Another smirk grew and he rolled his eyes. "There isn't much to it. She helped me carry our friend back to the car. I'm actually supposed to find her again at the club after this, since I didn't get a number. She said she go a few days."
Tony leaned back and listened while Ethan went on. It was a little surprising to hear that this girl had actually helped. Kindness in Glenhaven? Well it could happen sometimes, apparently. What was more intriguing was the fact Ethan was supposed to find her again without a number. A slow, wide grin grew on Tony's face. He leaned forward in his seat and swirled his bottle.
"So let me get this straight. You're essentially playing a game of chase with some random chick you met at a bar?" The fact it was Ethan only made things even more hysterical. Actually, who else but Ethan would get into something like this? "Well, well, well. Look at you go over here Mister Smooth. You sure I'm not intruding on potential 'meet the girl again' time?"
A slow grin started to form on his face. Ethan only rolled his eyes at the apparent amusement. Although he could understand. It was an odd encounter. One that he would never have expected. So let him get it straight; Ethan was essentially playing a game of chase with some random girl he met at a bar? When he said it like that, it sounded a little ridiculous. Nonetheless it recieved a nod.
Well look at him go: Mister Smooth. Was Ethan sure he wasn't intruding on potential "meet the girl again" time? This time he scoffed and shook his head. "I'd rather not go back to the club after that night. I'm a little partied out at the moment." Yet he still raised the can to his lips. "But I will go back. Eventually." It was too tempting not to.
